Australian Made, Owned & Operated

Our story

We got tired of cleaning glass

Australia’s original perforated pool fence, invented here and still made here. This is how it came about, and what is actually different about it.

  1. The problem was glass

PoolPerf® started with a complaint everyone with a glass fence recognises: the cleaning. Water spots, salt, sprinkler marks, fingerprints. A barrier that only looks good for the week after you wash it. The idea was a fence you could see through that did not demand that of you.

  2. Punched, not woven

The answer was to punch a fine pattern into marine-grade aluminium rather than weave a mesh or hang a sheet of glass. You keep the view and gain airflow, and the panel is a solid piece of metal rather than something that can be pushed out of shape. PoolPerf® was the first to do it in Australia.

  3. A frame that cannot twist

The part that is genuinely ours is the frame. It is tabbed and slotted together, which stops it twisting and guarantees it stays square. The perforated infill is fitted independently, after the frame is built, and then riveted around the entire perimeter with rivets that have been pre-treated and powder coated to match. Nothing else in perforated fencing is put together that way.

The frame is the product. Each panel is a squared, tabbed-and-slotted frame with the infill riveted right around it.
  4. Made on the Gold Coast

Every panel is punched, folded, pre-treated, powder coated and assembled at Molendinar. That is also where the showroom is - 200 square metres of it - and you are welcome to ask for a factory tour when you visit. Watching a flat sheet become a finished panel explains the price difference better than any brochure could.

  5. Then the imports arrived

Success attracts copies. There is now cheap perforated fencing coming in that photographs almost identically and behaves nothing like it - thinner metal, untreated fixings, coatings that chalk within a couple of summers. It is the reason we would always rather you saw the real thing in person before you decide.

  6. Perf Safe® certified

PoolPerf® is independently tested in a NATA-accredited facility and complies with AS1926.1. Perf Safe® certification is our own standard on top of that, covering the material, the fixings and the finish rather than just the finished barrier.
